By Teresa D'Amario EBook: AllRomanceEbooks Amazon.com KINDLE

Once the victim of scientific experimentation by the Government Control of Supernatural Activities (GSA), Damon doesn't have a past, and he isn't sure he has a future. He doesn't even know if his ability to change from human to wolf is a virus, or magick. But the instant he lays eyes on the pretty cop from the local police force, he knows he has to learn the secrets of his past before they destroy her future. Krystal is the best animal cop on the police force, hiding magickal talent beneath layers of excuses and quick thinking. For five years she's tracked Peter Burke, a butcher who steals any form of canine to supplement his dietary needs. The day she saves a wolf from losing his head at the sharp end of an axe, her entire life changes. And then there is Damon, the mysterious, sexy ex-soldier with no memory of his past who awakens fantasies of dark and sensual nights. But the GSA isn't finished with Damon, and when the shadowy government agency joins forces with Burke, Krystal too finds her life in jeopardy, the target of men and women led by their own desires. Damon and Krystal must work together to stop evil and destroy years of illegal research.

Hi all! And thanks to Tigris Eden for letting me hang with them on today's part of the blog tour and for being so patient when I forgot to send her today's blog! I was just putzing along, thinking how nice it was to have another day off from work, and forgot to do much of anything! My humble apologies.

For those just joining us, for my blog tour, I'm creating something very special. A free read. And you get to help! Each blog posting will be a new scene or chapter of the book titled above, He's no Faery Prince. Previous chapters can be found on my FREEBIE READS page of my blog. Then, at the end of my post for today, you'll see some questions. They are designed to make life easier for me (or much more fun, at least) because the answers to those questions will determine the course of the story. Also, if you happen to think of something really awesome to add, not addressed by my questions, feel free to throw that in there too. I'll be sure to take a look at it.

Sasha woke slowly, the darkness fighting to keep hold, and not fade into the light. But she fought, determined to remember what happened. Her first thought: Ted. He'd promised to keep her safe when she went inside to find out information for him, but he'd been whisked away by that bastard, Sandoven she thought she'd heard him say. Another Fae, she was sure. But she'd never heard of a Fae being able to teleport. That was reserved for the little people. The Leprechauns.

"Well, awake, I see." The voice echoed in the room. The light was dim, but she didn't need human electricity to see. Ted stood opposite her, with something in his hand. He slapped whatever it was against his fist. It looked like a rod of some sort.

"What's going on? Ted, let me go."

He laughed, a dark, almost psychotic sound. "Now why would I do that? When you look so pretty?' He traced the edge of the rod against her side. "My brother always did have good taste."

Her senses slowly awoke. This wasn't Ted. It looked like him, but it certainly didn't smell like him. This man was tinged with the sour smell of psychosis. And sugar.

"Who are you?" she demanded.

He chuckled again. "Now isn't it obvious? I'm Ted's brother, Sec."

"What do you want with me?"

"Oh, that's easy. Ted. I want Ted. You see, my brother has been whispering in father's ear about how we should be nice to the shifters." He slid what she could now see looked like a baton down her other side. A deadly, threatening caress. "And with the humans. But I don't agree. Instead, I offered the GSA to help them destroy your kind, leaving the world free to our reign."

"And you think they don't see through you?"

"It doesn't matter. You see, once I rule the Fae realm, I'll have all the power I need to destroy every living creature on this planet. Then, the Fae can enjoy the sweet joy of peace on your world."

"You're insane!" she cried. She couldn't call Ted now. She was the bait in a trap, and there was no way she'd drag him in to save her. She scanned the room. There had to be a way to get out of here!

****

Ted paced his bedroom, growling under his breath. His magic wouldn't work so long as the locks were on his room. A simple Fae style of prison. He had to get out of here. There was no telling what had happened to Sasha.

The door unlocked and swung open. His father stood in the hallway, glaring at him. The king had let himself go, his body heavy amid the delicate Fae robes. But he was still impressive, with more power than any human or magickal creature deserved. It came with the crown.

"You're mother tells me you have met a woman."

Ted arched a single brow, studying his father. Would it help or hurt to give him the truth. But, when it came down to it, he'd never been able to lie to his father without getting caught. He sighed. "Yes. I have. And she's in danger. You have to let me out of here."

His father tsked. "That's what your mother said. But your mother is a romantic at heart. I, however, am not. Your mother also says this woman is a shapeshifter. You know I can't let that happen. She will just have to die."

A fury unlike anything Ted had experienced to date rolled and twisted inside him. "No," he shouted. His father turned, arching that regal brow of his. "I won't let that happen."

"You have no choice, son." His father turned and stepped into the hallway again, then closed the door.

"Arggh," shouted Ted, as he slammed hard against the door. He had to find a way out. Every passing minute he could feel Sasha's life coming closer to the end. He didn't know how he knew, but he knew she was in mortal danger."

"Sandoven," he screamed. "Get your ass in here."

The man appeared in the bedroom, glowering. "How dare you summon me. Just because I owe your father my life doesn't mean I owe the same to you."

"And you are the one who put me in this position. I know about your sister, Sandoven. I know she's kept among the leprachauns. And if you help me, I promise, I'll find a way to release her."

"There is no way," Sandoven growled. "She's gone, forever." The steady warrior dropped to Ted's bed, his hands covering his face. "It's my fault. The only person who can save her is me, and I don't have the power."

Okay folks! That's today's edition! So tell me, what does Sandoven have to do to save his sister? And how can Ted offer to help him in order to save his true love?

Now for prizes:

  • Grand Prize: A $50 gift card at the online bookstore of your choice to be announced at the end of the entire blog tour.
  • Unadvertised prizes will be given on random days. You won’t know when, but I’ll choose them and post on the blog in question once you have won!

There are two ways to enter:

  1. Leave a response on each blog I’m visiting — one entry for every blog you comment on during my blog tour. Multiple comments a day do not get you additional entries for the small giveaway, but will for the larger one.
  2. Email me at desertpetiri@aol.com with a copy of the receipt for the purchase of any Teresa D’Amario book, so long as it was purchased after 15 December. Older receipts do not count, though I’d love to know you’ve read one of the books. Five entries for every receipt. If you prefer not to share receipts, simply email me and so long as I’m satisfied, I will provide you with the credits.

So follow along, ladies and gentlemen, to help me write a short story, and to enter for the prizes! Again, the entire blog schedule is found on my blog in the calendar, which will include links to each blog participating! The next stop on the blog tour is with Write Minded blog tomorrow, 19 December.

Thanks Again Teresa for stopping by!

Hey Teresa.

Here I was thinking he should have to help a leprechaun find his lost pot of gold. Being able to teleport should be good for that.

Can't wait for tomorrow's story

LOL Diana, I'm tellin' ya, this story is so out of control. LOL. Leprechauns, Pixies, and more! The poor shifter isn't even half as wild as they are! It surprised me how much I remembered about the Irish stuff (leprechauns, pixies, etc) from childhood. Oh yes, that was fun to write tomorrow's rendition. Sorry today's was so late. :(

Oh my gosh -- Leprechauns. U know -- they are tricky and I don't know a lot about 'em. Yikes. What does Sandoven have to do to get his sister back? Give the Leprechaun a ton of gold in exchange for his sis -- or steal the Leprechaun's current stash and hold it hostage until he gets his sister back. But he's also gotta be able to find the dude first because Leprechauns are hard to track down. How can Ted offer to help him etc? Ted knows where the King keeps all of his loot and precious objects. He says he'll get the gold and a nifty fae walking stick that will help 'em find the leprechaun holding the sister. But Sandoven's gotta get Ted out of prison now so he can help Sasha. And then he'll help with the Leprachaun. (they could -- at the end -- banish Ted's brother to the land of the leprachuan .... hee hee. OK -- it was a rough day for me. Leprachaun made me smile tho.) Yes!! An object of power, dang, I wish I would have just added that one word. I was close? LOL. This is fun, great great idea, Teresa! Now, I just have to hope that Sandoven agrees and then it actually works! I want the lover and the sister out of harms way, soon. ;]

I think that Ted can help Sandoven save his sister by offering up some of his father's power. I'm not exactly sure how this could work, but I think his father would deserve it for neglecting to help him save his lover.
