Tigris:. What was you favorite hero and heroine you enjoyed writing?
Jaci: Always a tough question to answer and I can never choose a favorite. My favorite characters are always the ones I'm writing at the moment, because they're present in my mind constantly as I'm writing them and I just love them so much. Though sometimes I hate them too and they make me crazy because they don't do what I want them to do. It's a love/hate thing with characters ya know.
Although I do have to say favorite characters are also the ones I'm going to write as soon as I'm finished writing the ones I'm currently working on. They sit in the background, enticing me. They're probably the most fun because they haven't started causing trouble yet. Heh.
Tigris: How did you come up with your characters?
Jaci: It depends. Sometimes characters come first when I plot a story, sometimes the plot comes first and I'll develop characters that fit the plotline. If the characters come first, they'll pop in from all different kinds of places. An idea for a character will come from something I see on tv, and it can be something as obscure as something someone says on a movie or tv show or a commercial, it could be a line of dialogue, the way someone's hair looks, a certain expression, it could be a picture I see in a magazine or someone I pass on the street. Usually I'll write a little bit of the story, like the first 3 chapters, and that's how I create the characters--they definitely become more 'alive' to me after I start writing them.
Tigris:. Alpha Male or Beta Male
Jaci: Alpha all the way baby.
Tigris: . What is your favorite genre to read?
Jaci: Oh that'll change every year or so depending on my moods. Right now I love contemporary romance and romantic suspense. I have mad mad love for category romance--always have, always will.
Tigris: . If you could be a superhero who would it be and why?
Jaci: I'd like to be Super Speed Woman, able to multitask with no effort whatsoever so I could make all my deadlines with no problem.
Tigris: . How would would you describe the perfect man?
Jaci: The perfect man is funny, honorable, strong, passionate, knows his way around a hammer, treats a woman like his equal, doesn't mind driving on road trips, doesn't expect his woman to be perfect or always look beautiful, loves children and animals, takes shit from no one but also knows when to be gentle, is communicative, knows how to say he's sorry, stands up for what he believes in, and loves with his whole heart.
Tigris: . If you could be anywhere in the world where would you be, why, what would you be doing?
Jaci: On a sunny, sandy beach with my man, doing absolutely nothing at all. And there wouldn't be a computer or an internet connection within miles.
