Hey all, I really hope you enjoy this interview with Shayla Black also know as Shelley Bradley. This woman here writes some of the sexiest stuff I have ever read.  The first book that I ever read of hers was from the Wicked Lovers Series.  After that I was hooked! Bought anything and everything I could get my hands on.  

Shayla has also offered up the first three chapters in the next Wicked Lovers Series which is all about the sexy Luc Traversons.  And let me just say OMFG the man is hot! Tigris:. What was you favorite hero and heroine you enjoyed writing?

Shayla: I have to confess that I’m not much of a “favorite” person. I’ve enjoyed something about each one of them for different reasons. The fact they each represent something and, for me, display a different value or characteristic is very important. So depending on my mood, I’d gravitate to one or another when answering that question. I can say that among my favorites are Jack Cole, Ice Rykard, Simon Northam aka “Duke” (whose book will be released in November), and, of course, Luc Traverson from my most recent release, DELICIOUS.

Some of my favorite heroines have been Sydney Blair and Morgan O’Malley. But must confess that my hands down favorite is Alyssa Devereaux, also from DELICIOUS. She was so wonderfully complex. I thoroughly enjoyed peeling back all the layers of this very big character.

Tigris:. How did you come up with your characters?

Shayla: Nearly every one of them simply appeared in my head and started talking. I’d say they more came to me. It’s an odd process, and I often joke with people that being a writer is one of the few professions you can have and confess to the voices in your head without the men in white coats coming to take you away.

Tigris:. Alpha Male or Beta Male

Shayla: Alpha totally…but with that something deep down that’s protective and tender.

Tigris:. What is your favorite genre to read?

Shayla: Again, not so much a “favorite” person, and this one is DEFINITELY based on my mood, but I’d say that what I write is what I most like to read. I have a lot of erotic and paranormal romances in my TBR stack and on my keeper shelf.

Tigris:  If you could be anywhere in the world where would you be, why, what would you be doing?

Shayla: If I could be anywhere in the world, it would be someplace WARM. I am not a fan of winter, and we’ve had a bit too much for my taste lately. I’d be sipping on a fruity drink, reading a great book in the chaise next to my hubby, wondering where we’re going to go out for dinner and fun later. And if we’re fantasizing, it would be great if that someplace had awesome ocean views with a balcony and reliable wi-fi so I could sit out on the balcony at night and write to the sounds of the ocean.

Tigris:  What are you working on now?

Shayla: I am gearing up to write the fifth book in my Doomsday Brethren series, which will release in December, titled EMBRACE ME AT DAWN. This book will bring a lot of change to the series and really shake things up, while bringing closure to some outstanding issues, so I’m really looking forward to getting a start on this one.

Tigris:  How did you come up for the characters to your Brethren Series.

Shayla: The Doomsday Brethren is actually based off an idea I had for a book that contained magical elements in 1996. I wrote about four chapters, but wasn’t sure what to do next, plot-wise, so I set it aside. In 2002, I had another idea for a book with magical elements. But again, I felt as if I was missing something. Just wasn’t exactly sure what and couldn’t seem to figure it out. In 2007, the answers hit me like a ton of bricks. When I started trying to marry those two ideas up and create a series, I suddenly “got” it. The first idea eventually became TEMPT ME WITH DARKNESS. The second idea eventually became SEDUCE ME IIN SHADOW. The rest of the guys, like all my other characters, just appeared and started telling me about their lives, their issues, their collective challenge to defeat Mathias. And a series was born!

Tigris:  What can we expect to see down the road?

Shayla: I’m hoping to continue both the Doomsday Brethren until it’s end with book 7. I’m also very excited about the possibility of extending the Wicked Lover series with a book for Hunter Edgington, whom we met in DECADENT. I’m kicking around ideas for Hunter’s younger brother, Logan, and a character you’ll meet in DELICIOUS, Tyler. I get mail about the continuation of my BOUND AND DETERMINED/STRIP SEARCH series, so I’m pondering that, along with a possible sequel to DANGEROUS BOYS AND THEIR TOY. I love what I do, so have no plans to stop anytime soon.
