What's an Alpha Male to do when he meets the Alpha Female of his dreams? Step one, hide all sharp objects. All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn't need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it. Sara Morrighan knew this was the best she could expect from her life. Good friends. A nice place to live. And a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew she wanted more. She knew she wanted him. But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she's doing with the snarling. Even her best friends are starting to wonder what's going on with her. But this is only the beginning. Sara's about to find out her life was meant for so much more. And Zach's about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane.
Sara Morrighan is not your average heroin. Left physically scarred from an animal attack when she was young and raised by her grandmother, who was......shall we say, not everyone’s favorite person. Sara’s physical limits and how she struggles to overcome them is a refreshing twist and when she gets together with her best friends Miki and Angelina, look out world.
Enter bad boy biker Zach Sheriden, who by the way happens to be a Shape Shifer Alpha male. He blows into town to protect Sara from things she knows nothing about. He is instantly drawn to her but fights it because come on.........why would an Alpha Male want to be tied down?
From their first meeting, she practically molests him in an alley after he saves her and calls him her “pretty man”. To some very hot and steamy scenes in the forest outside a Rave. Sara tries to understand what is happening to her. Why her body is changing, becoming stronger. Zach struggles with his growing feelings for Sara and his need to protect her.
Their bickering brings excitement and laughs to this story. She called him and his pack a “motorcycle” Gang which he politely told her they were business partners, handing her a card saying “only reputable business people have business cards.” She in turn replied “And the Hell’s Angels have their own website.” My personal favorite, When Sara learns what she is: “There’s an array of shifters” Zach said. Bunnies? Sara asked.” No bunnies, Think predators. Our ancestors became one with predators. Bunnies are low on the food chain.” Sharks?” She asked. “What?” “Don’t get huffy; they’re the ultimate killing machine.” Watching them struggle with their feeling while trying not to kill one another was a nice change from your typical romance story.
Sara’s friends Miki and Angelina are great “sidekicks” in this book. Both women are strong, smart with a little bit of humor thrown in and reading about their interactions with each other is hilarious. The women argue like sisters would, from food to men to everything in between and will go on for hours driving Sara crazy. So if you love Shape Shifters, hot guys on motorcycles and strong smart women who will tell you how it is, this book has it all. I cannot wait to read the next installment of Shelley Laurenston’s Magnus Pack series. If it’s anything like this one, I will definitely enjoy the ride.
