From Good Reads:
The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen
For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she's around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma's life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.
Let me start off by saying WOW. This book had me from page one. It has everything I love about paranormal books. Ok not everything....it is a Young Adult Book.
You start out being introduced to Gemma...she is your typical teenager....or is she? She just recently started to get feelings...now I know what your thinking...she is a teenager, do they even have any? YES this one does. Well she does NOW.
Gemma goes about her day as typical teenagers do until one day new guy Alex and his sister Aislin show up, then things start to get strange.....ok stranger than before. Anyway....Gemma starts getting this electrical engery, sparks whatever it is you want to call it, whenever she is around Alex. Problem with that is...Alex seems to hate Gemma and she has no idea why.
Page after page this book had me saying "what happens next?" As Gemma tries to figure out what is going on in her life. Nothing is what it seems. Does she find out what that electric feeling between her and Alex is? Who is Alex anyway? And why does he hate her?
Now I am not going to tell you if those questions and more are answered, you will have to read the book for yourself to find out. I will tell you that I hope Jessica Sorensen writes another because I really want to read more about Gemma and what happens with her.
I give this book a 5 out of 5.
